Introductions

Greetings fellow Traveller!

I’ve written at least 3 blog drafts before finally settling down to write this one. My apologies to those I’ve sent here with nothing to offer you before now. I was stuck. Sometimes I get stuck too…

Getting unstuck is what I’m here for. It’s the “TL/DR” of why I established Facets of Serenity. Personal Transformation through Shadow Work. It’s meant to be a reflection of the work I have done and continue doing on my Self. It seems that Shadow Shamans come to their work honestly. We do our own work – incessantly. And as transformational as breakthroughs can be, we somehow continuously find deeper layers of the onion to peel back as time passes.

The layers I’ve been working on lately relate to success (financial and otherwise) and self-actuation. I’ve had a hard time trying to figure out what my next steps were after completing the Psychedelic Therapy course. I was back to “trying too hard” (banging head against wall) and worrying about potential futures which may or may not happen. These behaviours were too familiar to me, reminding me of the “old me”. What hasn’t been resolved? What continues at play in my Shadow?

I have been back at work on my Shadow over the past couple of months. It’s been pretty rough – I’ve been feeling a second rock-bottom until recently. Within the past few weeks, several revelations (without psychedelics! – I know, shocking) have presented, and I’m pleased to say that transformation is underway. In fact, I almost feel as though I’ve had a second Awakening! If the first one was about “Knowing thy Self”, this one is more “Living thy Path”.

I’ve known for a while that I want to help people in the way that I was helped. The Psychedelic Therapy training was only the first step on that path. My next step is to get more well read on Jung’s work and to potentially seek accreditation as a Jungian Analyst. His model of the psyche is right. Both types of Awakenings are described in his work. Shadow Work is the BEST way to get your life on track and fix your mental (and Psychedelic Therapy is a powerful accompaniment, even though I didn’t use it this time).

Sadly for me, certification as a Jungian Analyst requires a Masters, and I don’t even have an Undergrad. So guess who’s applying to University at 53? Yours truly! Wish me luck!

Meanwhile, I endeavor to become as well read on Jung and Shadow Work as possible. And I invite all like minds on this journey with me. Follow me on the socials, subscribe to my newsletter, or join my Discord. At the end of the day, it’s you I’m here to help.
